Teresia has four children and teaches science at a primary school in the informal settlement of Kangemi, Nairobi. She learned embroidery through telling her story of the pandemic for the Kenyan COVID Quilts in 2020. She followed up with an embroidered rhino for the Sister Artists 2 challenge that was quilted by Karen Pulaski in Massachusetts and auctioned. Teresia is active in the Kangemi Self Help Group which formed in 2020 to organize training for the COVID-19 story-telling project and went on to launch a campaign that secured over 1,900 vaccinations in the Kangemi settlement.
